AN EAGLE SOARS ALONE
An eagle soars over the plain, avidly
Independent, needing nor wanting no other,
Incurring uncommon highs by
Invisible but dynamic skies,
Insured by vision and
Intrepid incursion.
An eagle soars over the plain, vitally
Inculcated only to relish the fresh,
Inept vocally, socially,
Incapable of synchrony,
In fear of collision with its own,
Incarcerated by a limited horizon.
I'd rather not be an eagle.
An other soars over the plain, vividly
Interested by potential,
Invigorated by the past,
Ingestion independent,
In aerial companionship with its own,
Infiltrating almost any region known.
I'd rather be a buzzard.
SUNFLOWERS DON'T ASK WHY
Why should they?
Why shouldn't I?
Why are they there?
Why am I like them?
Wise replies for old
Whys implies two new
Whys and so on, and on.
Whys without end, amen.
Why must not be the question.
Why, that must be the answer!
Why not?
